April 22, 2004: Album news! Thanks to our “Man On The Scene” Joe, we have learned that Ronnie went into the studio this week to begin recording the new album. For those of you who don’t know the band will consist of Simon Wright, Craig Goldie and returning bass veteran Jeff Pilson. The album is tentatively scheduled for a July release.

Tour News! Dio have scheduled many European dates which can be found at http://www.diocrew.com/tour.htm.

DVD News! Dio’s Sacred Heart concert video has been released on DVD FINALLY! Look for it at a store or internet site near you.

May 3, 2003It has been announed that guitarist Doug Aldrich, who had recorded on Dio's last effort Killing the Dragon, will not be touring with Dio during the U.S. summer tour. In Doug's place will be Ratt guitarist Warren DiMartini. It was announced that DiMartini will be the "touring" guitarist for the U.S. dates as Aldrich has commited to touring with Whitesnake. It is not clear what the future hold in store for the recording of the next Dio album.

February 5, 2001It seems as if the news on this page get fewer and further between. Of course much has happened in the Dio world since a year ago.
An interview last night with Ronnie was broadcast on the internet and radio. There were some great Dio fans, some who I have met, with lots of great questions for Ronnie. The interview should be archived at this link http://www.alhandelman.com/index-guest.htmin a few days. If it isn't there I believe it will be archived at http://www.diozine.com. Dio will be starting their tour Feb. 14th and a list of dates are listed on this site as well as the Official Dio Site..

January 7, 2000 Well it has been an extrmeley long time since I have updated this page. I am sure that most of you know by now that DIO will be releasing a new album March 21st, 2000 entitled Magica. The album is a concept album and is supposed to be an album that is similiar sounding to older Dio material. Craig Goldy makes a return to the lineup and undoubtably will assist in acheiving the DIO sound of the past. Craig has been working with the band since last summer as they toured Europe last year.
At this point it isn't clear whether or not Jimmy Bain will be joining DIO on tour. Chuck Garric played bass for DIO on the last European tour. Scott Warren (keyboards) and Simon Wright (drums) will also be continuing with DIO.
No new tour dates have been announced yet, but I am sure that tour dates will be announced around the time the album is released.

July 4, 1999 Next Saturday will be Ronnie's birthday! Be sure to check out the new issue of The Man On The Silver Mountain. No other real exciting news to report. The band has finished the European tour and is probably back in the states working on the new album, Magica.

June 12, 1999The Eurofest99 has begun with a bang. Thanks to one Diofanatic the set list from the show in Sweden was revealed and was as follows:

 Evilution
 Holy Diver
 Rainbow In The Dark
 Don't Talk To Strangers
 The Last In Line
 I Speed At Night
 Rock n' Roll Children
 King Of Rock n' Roll
 Stargazer
 Long Live Rock n' Roll
 Man On The Silver Mountain
 Neon Nights
 Heaven And Hell
 Mob Rules

Also to clarify the band lineup:
Vocals: Ronnie James Dio
Guitar: Craig Goldy
Drums: Simon Wright
Bass: Larry Dennison
Keyboards: Scott Warren

May 6, 1999 The summer tour lineup will probably consist of Craig Goldie and Dave Feinstein on guitars, Larry Dennison on bass, Scott Warren on keyboards and Simon Wright on drums. See the tour dates section for the available dates.

May 3, 1999Word has leaked out that Craig Goldie will be returning to the Dio lineup. Also joining Dio is guitarist Dave Feinstein who worked with Ronnie in Elf. And if that isn't enough good news....Jimmy Bain may be back in the lineup as well. Nothing has been mentioned for keyboards, but it looks like Simon Wright will be on drums and possibly some other guest appearances on the Magica album.

May 1, 1999 It has been quite awhile since I have had any new news to add, but there are some rumblings around the internet that there are going to be some major lineup changes in the Dio camp. Along with a lineup change we can expect a new album possibly called "Magica" to be released this year. I am sorry I don't have any more specific news to relay to all you, but just keep tuned in.

November 18, 1998As many of you know the Official Dio chat has been down for awhile. In the meantime you can chat with other Dio fans using the Dio channel on Dalnet's IRC server. You must have the mIRC program to chat. This program can be downloaded at http://www.mirc.co.uk. If you have any problems with this program please email me and I will try and help you out.

November 18, 1998The European tour is now over and as far as I know the band is resting for a bit before begining work on the next album. As soon as I know anything more definite I will let you know.

October 19, 1998Well, it has been some time since I updated this page. DIO is of course on tour in Europe and will finish up the tour in November and then head back to the states. I would expect that DIO will go back into the studio to begin work on the next CD.

There is also news about Ronnie working with the old Elf members on a new CD. I don't have any definite information on when that will all begin. The is an excellent interview with Dave Feinstein on The Man On The Silver Mountain Page.He talks about the upcoming Elf album

A few other things should be noted. There is a new DIO CD that has been released on Polygram called "Master Series".

On November 1, 1998 there will be a webcast of the DIO concert from the House of Blues on June 22, 1998. This show will air on www.liveconcerts.com

August 7, 1998As many of you may know the Official Dio web page has been down. It is now back up in a somewhat abbreviated form, but looks fantastic so far.

Also, the band will be finally taking a rest after finishing the Inferno - To Hull and Back Tour. I have heard something about some shows in Europe in October and I also heard a rumor of going to Japan. These are not confirmed by anyone so PLEASE don't send me hate mail if they are not true. ;-)

May 25, 1998I was given a copy of the Japanese Live In Live CD and it is really incredible. The CD comes with two extra tracks. I and After All from the Riverside show in 1996. The CD also comes with an interview and has tons of very nice pics from over the years. It also comes with all the lyrics and if you can read Japanese it has some commentary. Overall, it is one of the best CD packages I have ever seen. Go get it if you can find it.

May 25, 1998As some of you may know now, Vinny has been asked to help Black Sabbath on their tour because of Bill Ward's health. Vinny's last show was at the Maritime Hall in San Francisco, Ca on May 22. Simon Wright was on hand at the SF show and said he is looking forward to the Inferno tour.

I also heard from reliable sources that they will be doing some shows with Iron Maiden and that in a few months will be going to Japan.

April 27, 1998The Official Dio site has posted the new itinerary for the upcoming tour.News

April 24, 1998The Official Dio site announced today that the tour dates that were recently announced will be rescheduled. No specific reasons were given for the rescheduling.

April 22, 1998The Official Dio site posted some new dates for the tour.http://www.ronniejamesdio.com

April 20, 1998The official Dio site has announced the first date for the upcoming Dio tour. The first show will be at The Fenix in Seattle, WA May 19, 1998. The opening band scheduled is Great White. This will surely be a great show. More dates and venues will hopefully be released this week.

April 16, 1998 Well it is finally here. The new OFFICIAL Dio site. You will find it at http://www.ronniejamesdio.com. The site really looks fantastic and I recommend that ALL of you check it out soon.

April 8, 1998Word has it from reliable source that the Japanese version of Inferno will be packaged with a two song live video, some "interesting" pictures and an extra bonus track.
Still no more definite news on Dio tour plans for Spring or Summer.

March 29, 1998:Here is some new from Paula Hogan of Mayhem regarding Dio upcoming events.

Subj: DIO Update - 3/30/98

Date: 98-03-29 11:55:01 EST

From: PJH1029

BCC: MikeK48

If you are receiving this update for the first time and wish to not receive further updates, please write and let me know. Inferno: Last in Live is in stores now. I hope you have all picked up a copy. The record is selling well. Keep up the good work.

No confirmed tour dates as of yet. The rumored summer shed tour looks to have fallen by the wayside. But that won't keep Ronnie and the boys down! I'll keep you posted.

Make sure you look for the upcoming issues of Metal Maniacs and Seconds Magazines. Both have in-depth interviews with Ronnie (Metal Maniacs conducted in Ronnie's home in Los Angeles). They are set to hit stands in May.

Please note that I am now coordinating a number of chats with members of DIO. Confirmed dates/times will be forwarded to you as they become confirmed.

I will be forwarding over details of a contest that is only available through this mailing list. The prizes will range from band merchandise, autographed CD's and posters, a phone call from Ronnie (how do you like them apples) as well as limited-edition single-CD versions of Inferno: Last in Live (these are promotional only and are quite a collectable if you happen to snag one).

Please stay tuned for details. Please let your fellow DIO friends know about this list. It has gotten quite large over the past year and I'd like to keep it growing. Just have them write me.

As always, if you have any questions, please write.

Your mystical princess, Paula

February 24, 1998:Dio's latest release: Dio's Inferno - Last In Live was released today. The sound is really spectacular and the photos are fantastic. Big Jim's picture of Ronnie on the cover is really great. Way to go Jim! Also congrats to Jim Amentler, Tapio Keihanen, and Suzette Frank who were all mentioned in the CD leaflet.
Also, I want to thank all the formentioned people becuase of their support for all the members of the Dio band as well as the help with my web page, inspiration and friendship they have given me.

February 19, 1998:In an interview today with Ronnie by Nasty Neil (of www.knaclive.com) , Ronnie stated that Dio will probably do a tour with Iron Maiden, UFO, WASP and Yngwie Malmsteen that may begin in June or July of 1998. Ronnie also announced that there will be an official Dio site at www.dio.net. The site is not up and running yet, but Ronnie said it will be up soon.

February 5, 1998:A big congratulations to Big Jim Hoefelt aka Diofan@aol.com for having the honor of being credit with the cover photo for the new Dio CD Dio's Inferno - Last In Live. For those of you that don't know Jim, he is a "great" fan of Dio and has taken many great photos of the band during the Angry Machines tour. Of the 70 photos he submitted to Mayhem, one of his photos was chosen for the cover of the album. The album is still scheduled for release on Feb. 24, 1998 so keep you eyes open and look for it. Congratulations Big Jim!!

January 11, 1998:A DIO chat is tentativly scheduled on America Online for January 22, 1998. The usual time is 8:00 PM EST in the Dio chat room. Email me (Mikek48@aol.com) or Diofan@aol.com if you have any questions about the chat.

January 11, 1998:Paula Hogan, from Mayhem, said that there will be a European release of a live video from the Angry Machines tour. She said that she will let us know if there is going to be a U.S. release.

January 11, 1998:Check out Vinny Appice's web page for some great shots from Brazil back in November of 1997. Vinny Appice's Vipers Den

December 6, 1997: Some news came in recently that Vinny Appice was to fill in for Bill Ward for the Black Sabbath reunion in Birmingham, England. These shows were scheduled for early December and were also being recorded for audio and video releases. Bill, did play at least one show that I know of and as far as I can tell now, Vinny was only supposed to be in England just in case Bill was not able to play.

December 6, 1997: I just learned that the new live album (which is due out February 24, 1998) will be titled Inferno-Live in Line. This show was recorded in Chicago during the Angry Machines tour. A tour is supposed to follow the release of the live album in late spring. Then, Dio will record the next studio album tentatively scheduled for a 1999 release.
